“Libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries” – Anne Herbert

The Library Roulette Project is an anti-algorithm public-library reading experiment. Books are selected at random from the fiction stacks — no curation, no safety net.

This project exists to highlight the power of public libraries: the depth of their collections, the value of shared knowledge, and the radical idea that information should remain free and available to everyone.

The System

True Randomness

I use a self created coordinate system to select each title at random.

No Swapping

As long as the book isn’t a mid-series title, it gets pulled and read.

Public Library Only

The true mission of this project is the support of local public libraries.
